Personally I like the model of just using my netbook for webapps. If I want to run apps I have my phone or my desktop.
The main advantage app stores brought was that they made it very easy to discover new apps for your device. If I want to discover new web apps there's a search engine for that. Not to mention a ton of blogs that will point to them.
@lemonad I wish I hadn't given away my NC10 now. I'd love to install chromiumos on it and try it out.

Why would I want an appstore on my netbook? Wouldn't that mean that someone else would be in control of what I can do on my own computer?

@jyri if you're with him can you tell him that the folks who sell his t-shirt design in the UK have a website of such stunning unusability that I've never been able to find his t-shirt design. I really would like to buy it but their site doesn't have permalinks so I'm forced to trawl through every t-shirt they sell in order to find a specific one.

I'm not sure.
We're talking to someone about Spanish and German translations as well as the Japenese one. I think it all really depends on where O'Reilly thinks there's demand for a non-English version.
